The ice cap.
I think this picture speaks for it self.
It incredible how the ice just rises from 50 to 75 meters. We couldn't go closer than 50 meters to the ice because of the river. It was also very dangerous to go too close. You never knew when a large ice block would break off.
In 1961 a 75-meter large ice block plunge down. Small ice pieces flew through the air as bullets. 4 people were killed, and 29 injured.
Unfortunately we only saw small pieces fall down. We hoped to see large parts falling down, and we met other people who saw it the day after we were there.
